Some aspects of intumescent fire retardant systems

The problem of efficiency of phosphoric acids as intumescent fire retardant for thermoplastics has been discussed. A new method of determination of the optimum component relationship has been developed. It has been shown that the efficiency of intumescent systems depends on the thermoprotection properties of foamed char.
