Analysis for Stress and Deformation of Concrete Facing Rockfill Dam (CFRD) of Pumped-storage Power Station

The reservoir water of pumped-storage power station arises and drops cyclically and frequently. It will possibly generate the change of the stress and deformation of dam body and face slab and impact the safety of dam. The 3D non-linear finite element method is applied to simulate the two cyclical arising and dropping of reservoir water of upper reservoir CFRD of Langyashan pumped-storage power station. The stress and deformation of dam at any stage are forecasted and the change course of some physical quantities are put forward. The calculation results indicate that the stress and deformation of dam body and face slab are within normal range, with periodic variation and without abnormal phenomenon.
