Thermal insulation of buildings increases the comfort level of people. Besides insulation is achieved saving of heat transfer and energy resources. This has a positive effect on the economic situation of the country. In the article the targets for reducing heat heated buildings are presented. It is shown that to 2025, thermal energy consumption must be reduced by 65% ​​compared with 2011. Analysis is performed and solutions are offered to ensure the thermal characteristics of the building envelope at the level of regulatory indicators. Thermal resistance and thermal stability are necessary thermo-technical qualities of insulated walling. The successful solution of the problem of energy saving to a large extent depend on the thermal insulation properties of insulation materials and efficiency of insulation techniques. The requirements of fire safety and toxicity are very important. Perspective direction of energy saving is the development and application of methods of amplification, thermal protection, heated objects based on the use of multilayer structures from materials with high thermal insulation properties, incombustibility and toxicity. In the field of energy saving strengthening of thermal insulation of industrial and civil buildings is a priority for energy efficiency. In the article the questions of the relevance of thermal insulation of buildings and structures, insulating materials which are used at this time and methods of their application are considered. Article has basic thermal performance of materials and external walls of buildings and various structures. In order to evaluate and improve the methods and means of warnings building is necessary to determine the actual heat transfer resistance in buildings. In the article the calculation method for calculating this important parameter are described.
