Etude d'impact des Jeux Equestres Mondiaux FEI Alltech™ 2014 en Normandie: bilan et perspectives

2018
As part of a collaborative research program carried out by the IFCE, the INRA and the CDES of Limoges, a methodology for studying the short-term economic, social and environmental impacts of equestrian events was progressively created and tested on various small and medium-scale events. It was finally adapted to a large-scale event and applied to the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 in Normandy (2014 WEG). This was also an opportunity to extend the analysis to the long-term legacy of the event. This article presents the methods used for the 2014 WEG impact study, its main results, but also the perspectives resulting from this research program. Indeed, beyond the scientific contributions of this work, particularly related to methodological improvements, different valorizations are in progress, including the creation of a simplified predictive tool, to estimate the short-term economic impacts of all types of equestrian events.
