Age, perceived quality of life and coping strategies of the employees of the GAH company in Abidjan

The employees of the hotel company GAH in Abidjan use the strategy of avoidance through absenteeism and work stoppages to deal with problems at work. This strategy has negative consequences for this organization and for his employees. The objective of this study is to identify factors influencing the use of coping strategies by employees. 136 permanent employees from 13 management and departments of the hotel company responded to a questionnaire. The results show that employees primarily use emotion-focused, followed by seeking social support and problem-focused coping. These coping strategies are influenced by the perception of professional quality of life. Thus, this study provides managers with tools to guide interventions to prevent work absences.
