39.4: A Metal-Based High-Resonant-Frequency Optical Scanner with a Moving-Magnet Actuator for Non-Resonant Large-Angle Scanning

2011
A metal based optical scanner for non-resonant drive has been developed. A thin magnet, installed beneath a scan mirror, drives the mirror over +/−20 degrees of optical angle. The moving magnet actuator's large torque enables designing the torsion spring constant high for high resonant frequency, which makes laser projectors bright and optically efficient.
