Effect of enzyme supplementation in high fiber diet on the performance of broilers
2005
An experiment was conducted to find out the extent of utilization of raised levels of crude fiber in diet incorporated with enzymes in broiler chicks. 225, day old chicks divided into 5 groups were offered commercial broiler ration containing 6% CF (CF6), 8% CF (CF8), 8% CF supplemented with 1.5g enzyme mixture/kg feed (CF8E), 10% CF supplemented with 2.5g enzyme mixture/kg feed (CF10E1) and 12%CF supplemented with 4.0g enzyme mixture/kg feed (CF12E2) upto the age of 6 weeks. The feed consumption was lowest (P<0.05) in CF10E1 group but gain in weight was highest reflecting better nutrient utilization, resulting in best feed conversion ratio as compared to control and other groups. Highest margin of profit was achieved in CF10E1 group (24.53%) as compared to the other groups.
