A method for controlling a motor vehicle includes steps of monitoring a driving state of the motor vehicle, while the motor vehicle is controlled by means of an automated driving function, wherein the driving condition includes at least one vehicle-specific or environment-related parameters, determining that the running condition outside a predetermined system limit, within which automated driving function is to be operated, and of disabling the automated drive function.
