Method of Determining Reasonable Station Spacing of Suburban Railway Based on Passengers’ Trip Time

In this paper, the authors introduce the current situation of both domestic and abroad station spacing of suburban railways, then they propose a new method to determine reasonable station spacing. They optimize the station spacing of Jinshan railway in Shanghai with the method. According to the result, passengers’ trip time declines and demand for getting off is met well. This method proves to be valuable by some facts and it can provide some guidance when determining the station spacing of suburban railway.
