DESENVOLVIMENTO DA PARTE AÉREA DO COQUEIRO ANÃO VERDE SOB APLICAÇÃO DE FERTILIZANTES - DOI: 10.7127/rbai.v11n400603

2017
The production of coconut for water extraction in Brazil is in demand. However, there is a lack of basic information regarding the management of fertilization. The objective of this study was to evaluate the response of the coconut plants to the application of four types of liquid fertilizers to the leaf axilla. The treatments used were: T1 = Sulfoccalcium Syrup - 500 mL 100 L-1 of water; T2 = JK (600 mL 100 L-1 of water); T3 = Ecolife (400 mL 100 L-1 of water); T4 = Potassium Chloride (600 g 100 L-1 of water) and Witness = no application) applied to the ninth leaf of the dwarf coconut palm at Farm Lagoa of the Merces, county of Itapipoca, CE. The experiment was conducted in randomized block of 5 x 5, with the five treatments above mentioned in five blocks, in the period of August 2015 to March 2016. Was verified number of the fruits, number of bunches per plant, coconut mass and amount of water per coconut fruit. The application of Potassium Chloride - T4 caused an increase in the water volume and average mass of the fruits and in the quantity of fruits per plant. It was noted that potassium fertilization had a positive effect on these variables. It is concluded that the dwarf coconut palm when fertilized with Potassium Chloride, applied to the armpit of the ninth leaf of the plant, provides better vegetative development of the aerial part.
