지중매설 GRP관의 단기거동 특성

2020
Glass fiber reinforced polymer plastic (GRP) pipes are considered flexible because of their structural characteristics, which allow them to be buried. According to AWWA M 45 and ASTM D 2412, the ring deflection of GRP pipes is affected by factors such as pipe stiffness, the coefficient of the subgrade reaction of backfill materials, and bedding conditions, but domestic design standards do not provide clear provisions for the design of GRP pipes. In this study, we investigated the structural characteristics of buried GRP pipes by considering various aspects of soil–pipe interaction, including bedding angle, pipe stiffness, and soil density used as a backfill material, referred to in previous research and the design criteria of AWWA M 45. From this parametric study, it was found that the coefficient of the subgrade reaction used for the backfill is the mostt important factor relating to the ring deflection of buried GRP pipes, and GRP pipes should be buried at a bedding angle of 180°. Additionally, the coefficient of the subgrade reaction and bedding angle are most important when pipes with large diameters were used. Therefore, to ensure the safety of GRP pipes, detailed regulations and the management of the compaction resolution, relative density, and soil type are required during the construction process.
