MANAJEMEN KURIKULUM DALAM MENINGKATKAN MUTU PEMBELAJARAN PADA SMA NEGERI 1 TRIENGGADENG KABUPATEN PIDIE JAYA

The curriculum management creates an effective learning process in order to achieve the goals of education set, philosophic, curricular, institutional, and instructional goal, effectively and efficiently. The purpose of this study was to find out the planning, the implementation, and the evaluation of the curriculum of State Senior High School 1 (SMA Negeri 1) of Trienggadeng of Pidie Jaya Regency. The research method used was descriptive method with qualitative approach. The techniques of data collection were observation, interview, and documentation study. The subjects of the study were the principal, vice principal, and teachers in SMA Negeri 1 of Trienggadeng of Pidie Jaya Regency. The result of the study showed that: (1) The curriculum planning that was implemented positively affected the learning effectiveness, including the formulation of annual program, semestral program, subject analysis, syllabus, and lesson plan. (2) The curriculum implementation was based on the planning set, which showing an increase of discipline of teachers and students, holding of extracurricular activities, student guidance through intracurricular activities and other activities that related to the learning improvement. (3) The curriculum evaluation carried out was to find out the level of teachers' performance in carrying out various school activities and students' success in following learning process, which positively affected the improvement of learning quality.
