Highly Stable Aluminosilicate FAU Zeolites with Excellent Proton Conductivity

Abstract As solid electrolytes in fuel cells, high proton conductivity and framework robustness of crystalline porous materials should be both achieved. Herein, we report the highly stable aluminosilicate FAU zeolites with excellent proton conductivity at room temperature (up to 3.35×10-3 S cm-1) and high temperature 353K (up to 1.17×10−2 S cm−1) owing to the large amount of confined water molecules and sodium ions. Strikingly, robust framework of FAU zeolites endows them high performance (over 10−3 S cm−1 at 298K-353K), even after zeolites being treated in boiling water, acidic and alkaline solutions, as well as upon calcination.
