Verification of the Accuracy of Non-reflecting Boundary Conditions Using an Analytical Method

2012
Boundary Conditions play a substantial role in Computational Areroacoustcs (CAA) codes. Because they are part of the code, they could be source of error. Each type of the boundary condition contains assumption which directly a ects the code accuracy of the interior of the domain. Proposing a method to verify the boundary implementation could assure the user about the accuracy of the code. This article proposes an analytical method to check two common characteristic-based non-re ecting boundary conditions, Thompson and Giles. Test cases were done on a CAA code to verify the implementation of the Thompson and Giles boundary conditions.
