Porous ceramics with unique structure and excellent performance have become a focus area of ceramic materials research and development in recent years.The features and recent progress in various preparation routes for porous ceramics are summarized.The latest development for new techniques in the aim of improving performance and broadening application areas are reviewed.The related applications,especially those emerged newly in current hot area,are introduced.Trends for future research and development are proposed.
