Survilliance and Susceptibility Analysis of Pathogens Isolated from Burn Unit during 2002 and 2005

2006
Objective:To investigate the distribution and antibacterial susceptibility of pathogens in Burn Unit of West China hospital, and provide evidence for clinical therapy. Methods:A retrospective surveillance was carried out from 2002 to 2005.Identification and susceptibility of pathogens were assayed by Microscan Walkaway 40 Automatic System.Results:Seventy-five percent of bacteria were isolated from secretion specimens. The common four pathogens were Staphylococcus aureus,Pseudomonas aeruginosa,Acinetobacter baumanii, and Enterobacter cloacae, account for 34.5%,17.0%,12.0% and 6.0%,respectively.S.aureus were mostly Methecillin-resitant strains, and sensitive to Vancomycin and Trimethoprim-Sulfamethoxazole.And P.aeruginosa,A.baumanii,and E.cloacae were resistant to third-generation cephalosporin, which show relatively susceptible to Piperacillin/Tazobactam and Imipenem. Conclusion:Bacteria isorated from in Burn Unit were mainly S.aureus and P.aeruginosa with high-level resistance and multi-drug resistance.
