Aggression in Juveniles: Current Psychosocial Context

In the contemporary social context, manifestation of aggression has become prevalent with other forms of psychological crisis. This has become a normative response pattern among individuals across all socio-demographic strata. With reference to this, the increasing documentation of various aggressive incidents reported by the media is posing a dilemma regarding its role as a charabanc of affective experiences. This paves the way for the need to explore into the social scenario and to make assumptions underlying the aggressive manifestations in order to get rid of such social psychopathology. The current discussion intends to look at some of the mishappens of the recent past, considering the data put forward by the latest National Crime Records Bureau report, in light of the pre-existing psychosocial theories of aggression such as, Frustration-Aggression Hypothesis, Social Reactance Theory, Excitation Transfer, Personal Construct Theory and the like.
