Formación del profesorado de música en Chile: dos casos en la ciudad de Valparaíso

Resumen: Se aborda el estudio de dos casos de formacion de profesorado de musica en Valparaiso, Chile, en dos instituciones de educacion superior. Partiendo de un analisis documental, se describen los principales componentes curriculares y extracurriculares de ambos programas y se analizan sus elementos constitutivos. Se discute sobre tres elementos en particular: caracterizacion de sus modelos formativos en referencia al contexto latinoamericano, los respectivos componentes formativos de practica docente en el aula escolar (practicum) y la tension que presentan entre la formacion disciplinaria y la formacion pedagogica, asi como el modo en el que cada programa responde a dichos desafios. Este estudio discute la validez de sus propuestas a la luz de las demandas comunes desde la politica publica curricular y de formacion inicial docente. El articulo destaca la necesidad de mantener un equilibrio en torno a la articulacion de los componentes disciplinario y pedagogico de la formacion. Contenido pedagogico Music teacher education in Chile: two cases in Valparaiso Abstract: The study analyses two cases of music teacher training in Valparaiso, Chile, in two institutions of higher education. Based on a content documental analysis, the main curricular and extracurricular components of both programs are described and their constitutive elements are analyzed. Three elements are discussed: the particularities of their training models within the Latin American context, the formative components of their teaching practice (practicum), and the tension arising between their disciplinary and pedagogical content, as well as the way in which each program deals with these challenges. This study discusses the validity of their proposals in light of the common demands from public curricular policy and initial teacher training. The article highlights the need to maintain a balance around the articulation of the disciplinary and pedagogical components of music teacher training. Key words: Music teacher education.
