Involving the understanding and dissemination of the concept of food and nutrition security,through the agroecology in the practice of urban agriculture, the project involves agents oforganizations that seek to apply horizontal working methodology, collective and collaborativein poor communities. The Elementary Municipal School Francisco Cândido Xavier, welcomedthe project, providing space and time for development of activities with students of 5th and 7thyear, residents of the Housing Allotment Orestes Priest in Sao Leopoldo city/RS. Formulatingschedules involving activities of planting, composting, irrigation and production of seedlingsthat address the practical context the themes of food, agriculture, agro-biodiversity and NUS- Neglected and Underutilized Species - focusing on the profile of the formation of a studentwith critical autonomy and ecological awareness, reconnected to nature in urban centres andoutlying communities.
