Matlab in engineering education

This paper deals with a possible way how to visualize some mathematical notions from the analytic geometry, particularly quadratic 2D objects (ellipse, parabola and hyperbola) are dealt with. The main aim is to present a Matlab application, which allows to calculate and visualize the basic parameters associated to the conic sections.
