[Creatinkinase-beta-radioimmunoassay - its importance in the search for myocardial necroses under long-term tocolysis with Fenoterol (author's transl)].

1980
: 85 patients with premature labor were treated with the betamimetic drug Fenoterol over a period of 14 weeks. To rule out myocardial damage under the betaadrenergic therapy, the creatine kinase-isoenzyme-B serum level was measured via radioimmunoassay, next to ECG, CK-MB and serum myoglobin tests. Even with this highly sensitive and specific test which was applied for the first time in the perinatologic field, no myocardial necrosis was detectable. As the results of the CK-MB and the CK-B measurements correlate, this more elaborate examination should be reserved for selected cases.
