Alignement de la stratégie et du système d'information : Présentation de la méthode INSTAL

2009
This article presents an Information System (IS) engineering method, called INSTAL, which proposes to study the alignment as a concept and so to model it. In this method, two entities are aligned if they have a shared intention. The method guides the process of documenting strategic alignment and of eliciting IS evolution requirements in order to ensure a consistent evolution of the organization strategy and the set composed of the information system and business processes. This paper gives an overview of the INSTAL method and focuses on the construction of strategic alignment models. The originality of the INSTAL approach is that it relies on a metamodel that defines alignment formally under several perspectives and on a methodological guidance of the process to construct, analyze and evolve strategic alignment models. Examples of the French Retail Banking BNP Paribas are used to illustrate our work.
