Monitoring Insect Quality

1981
ABSTRACT TECHNIQUES for the analysis of sound production, visual sensitivity, respiratory rate, and periodicity have been developed for measuring aspects of the behavior of wild and colonized insects. These com-parisons describe changes associated with the colonization process but they do not identify the cause of these changes. Quality control, the assurance of appropriate behavioral performance, will be realized only after these alterations are linked with specific behavioral traits of known importance.
