Thermodynamics of weak interactions in liquid mixtures of chloroform and aromatic hydrocarbons
1971
Volumes of mixing, enthalpies of mixing, and molar polarizations have been measured for mixtures of chloroform with benzene, toluene, the xylenes, pseudocumene, and cumene at different temperatures. A specific interaction leading to complex formation is quite predominant but it does not appear to be a charge-transfer interaction. Hydrogen-bond interaction seems to be a strong possibility.
