Tech prep for engineering technology education

1993
It has been suggested that our technical education and training problems may be more focused at the technician level than for scientists and engineers. Trends in technical education would point to the likelihood that this problem will grow more severe in the next 2-6 years unless one recognizes and supports innovative educational reform movements such as Tech Prep/Associate Degree (or tech prep for short), a program that promises to provide more and better prepared technicians in America's workforce. Tech prep is a sequence of study beginning in high school and continuing through at least two years of postsecondary occupational education. It prepares students for high-skill technical occupations and allows either direct entry into the workplace after high school graduation or continuation of study which lead to an associate degree in a two-year college. >
