CYCLOP - robot autónomo baseado em CAN com sistema de visão

This paper presents a brief description of the CYCLOP robot developed at the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications (DET) of the Aveiro University, and aiming to participate in ROBOTICA 2001 – Festival Nacional de Robotica (Portugal) and in FIST 2001 – Festival International des Sciences et Technologies (France). The work around CYCLOP is based on the work carried out in previous years, particularly with the CRAB robot. Some of the distinguishing features of the CYCLOP robot are a distributed architecture based on a Controller Area Network(CAN) and a WebCam-based vision system, whose processing core is a PC running a Linux OS.
