Identification and biological characteristics of pathogen of mulberry disease.

A fungi from mulberry disease was isolated and studied with morphological and molecular method.It was a new pathogen that belongs to Phoma moricola.Biological characteristics of Phoma moricola were preliminarily studied.The optimum mediums for growth were PDA and oatemeal agar.The optimum temperature for mycelia growth was 18-23 ℃.The optimum pH was 6.The fungus grew better in starch as carbon source and in sodium nitrate as nitrogen source.
