Electromagnetic Interference and Device Programming

In this case study a patient with an ICD with previous appropriate therapies for ventricular arrhythmias undergoing a routine dermatology procedure is presented. He was exposed to electrocautery without application of a magnet or programming changes and had pacing inhibition followed by inappropriate anti-tachycardia pacing due to electromagnetic interference.
