Iron‐Mediated Carboarylation/Cyclization of Propargylanilines with Acetals: A Concise Route to Indeno[2,1‐c]quinolines.

The formation of N-tosyldihydroindenoquinoline derivatives is mediated by a catalytic or stoichiometric amount of iron trichloride, whereas the formation of indenoquinolines requires excess amounts of iron trichloride or bromide, respectively.
