The Colombian territorial sea, with coasts in the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean, comprises some 2,070,408 km2, which means that about 50% of the national territory is maritime. Through this book, an invitation is made to current and future generations to exercise sovereignty, defend and care for this asset, to conserve biodiversity on our coasts, in a responsible and equitable way, in consideration of the environmental costs of each of the dynamics of coastal development.
