Clinical application of MR cholangiography in diagnosis of hilar disease(analysis of 22 cases)

2001
Objective: To analyze the features of hilar diseases in MR cholangiography (MRC) and to evaluate the clinical value of MRC. Medrials and Methods: All 22 cases pathologically identified were retrospectively reviewed. MRC was performed with 2D, 3D fast advanced spin echo(FASE) sequence. The resulting slices were reconstructed with maximum intensity projection(MIP) into com- posite images. Results: All cases were displayed clearly with MRC, the malignant lesions had characteric demonstrations with limited narrowing in bile duct, wb tissue, and severely expanding in proximal bile duct. The accuracy of determining the location and the caus- es of the lesions was 100% and 86% respectively. Conclusios:MRC can depict the findings of hilar area diseases clearly, and it has played an effective role in the diagnosis.
