Improved thermal stability of PdZn/TiO2coating by Ce doping
2015
A thermally and chemically stable matrix for embedding nanoparticles was prepared by doping Ce species into mesoporous TiO2 framework via a sol–gel process using a Pluronic F127 surfactant. The materials were characterised by means of X-ray diffraction, low temperature nitrogen adsorption and transmission and scanning electron microscopies. The effect of Ce/Ti molar ratio on the porous and crystalline structure was discussed. Introducing highly dispersed Ce species into the titania framework can effectively improve its thermal stability. Ce doped catalytic coatings were prepared by spin coating method using PdZn nanoparticles based precursor solution. The coatings showed high thermal and chemical stabilities in the selective hydrogenation of 2-methyl-3-butyn-2-ol, precluding nanoparticle sintering and leaching of its component under reaction conditions.
