Object tracking based on RFID for the visually impaired.

2007
System for locating and tracking objects based on RFID indoors. The invention uses a mobile RFID reader built into a mobile device with processing capacity adapted to blind people, in order to locate objects and areas of interest in the home using active and passive UHF RFID tags. Three categories of tagged items are distinguished: - Fixed, - Semi-static, - Dynamic. When the labels in the vicinity of the antenna detected (object, place) they will be associated in the database, which can be local or remote to the mobile device, allowing multiple mobile devices to access it. You will have three operating modes: - Normal: regularly update its database of locations. - Consultation: the object name will be indicated and the last place in which it was found is returned. - Search: an alarm is triggered if the object is detected.
