AN EFFICIENT DOWNLINK RESOURCE ALLOCATION IN 802.16 WIMAX BY USING AN UPDATED DYNAMIC RECOURSE ALLOCATION ALGORITHM

2013
This paper aims to compare performance of low complexity dynamic resource allocation techniques for downlinkin OFDMA for WiMax system. An algorithm is proposed to maximize the total throughput while maintainingthe slot proportionality among the users. This algorithm prioritized the user with high sensitivity to the subscriber allocation. A two level hierarchical scheduler is developed for the DRA module, which can provide more organized service differentiation among different service classes and a measurement based connection admission control strategy is introduced for the CAC module.Evaluation is based on system based simulation results, which is performed in OPNET .The results clearly show that by adopting the proposed algorithm, system performance is improved particularly in term of high spectral efficiency and low outage probability.
