A new pulse source separation technology for UHF PD based on three-dimensional vector of pulse shape amplitude in frequency domain

2016
A new pulse source separation technology for ultra-high frequency (UHF) partial discharge (PD) based on three-dimensional vector of pulse shape amplitude (TDVA) in frequency domain is shown in this paper, while PD pulse sequences are detected or measured by one sensor responding to one phase of the ABC power voltage. According to the correlation graph of TDVA in frequency domain, sub pulse sequences can be obtained using an unsupervised clustering analysis such as the fuzzy C-means (FCM) method, then identification and analysis is applied to the PRPD pattern of each subgroup of pulse sequence, which forms a novel separation technology for UHF PD measurement. The results of simulation research show that this technology has strong pulse source separation ability, and can deal with the PD noise and multi-sources problem.
