An interval DC power flow analysis through the optimizing-scenarios method

DC power flow analysis is an efficient approach to acquire the bus angles and active transmission power, and it is the linear approximation model for active AC power flow equations. However, the input data and network parameters of power grid are uncertain due to various uncertain factors. Therefore, DC power flow model should be formulated as an uncertain problem. To deal with this problem, this paper regards the uncertain input data and network parameters as intervals, and establish the interval DC power flow (IDCPF) models. The IDCPF models aims at obtaining conservative ranges of bus angles and active transmission power. The optimizing-scenarios method is employed to solve the IDCPF models. The results obtained by the proposed method are compared with those acquired by Monte Carlo simulation method and interval AC power flow method. The overall simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
