Case Report: Amoebic Colitis Masquerading as Inflammatory Bowel Disease

Amoebic colitis needs to be kept in mind in the differential diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease, particularly in high risk individuals. Stool microscopy, serology and endoscopy with biopsies if carried out and interpreted correctly can help in arriving at a diagnosis quickly.
