Successful Correction of Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Connection in a 2.5 Kilogram Premature Neonate

1976
Abstract A 16 day old 2.5 kg premature infant with total anomalous pulmonary venous drainage to the coronary sinus was successfully treated with use of profound hypothermia and total circulatory arrest. To the best of our knowledge, this neonate is the smallest to successfully undergo correction of this anomaly. A plea is made for a more aggressive approach in early recognition and assessment of these critically ill infants, followed by early surgical correction.
