This wireless communication device comprises a pilot insertion unit, a segmentation unit, a phase rotation application unit, and a first addition unit. The pilot insertion unit inserts first and second pilot symbols into a symbol string. The segmentation unit divides, into a plurality of segments, a plurality of sub-carriers to which respective symbols included in the symbol string into which the first and second pilot symbols are inserted are assigned. The phase rotation application unit applies, on a segment-by-segment basis, phase rotation to either one of the first and second pilot symbols and the symbol string included in the segment, and does not apply phase rotation to the other of the first and second pilot symbols. The first addition unit adds signals corresponding to the sub-carriers included in the plurality of segments to which the phase rotation is applied by a multiplication unit to thereby generate a transmission signal.
