From ALMA to Super-ALMA

A roadmap for the development of THz astronomical observatories is presented, starting from the experience gained during the design and construction of the European antennas for the Atacama Large Millimeter Array. The proposed developments are outlined from the engineering point of view, in order to provide to the scientific community some clues about the technology state-of-the-art. Such information could possibly help scientists define the science case and the development roadmaps for future THz observatories, taking into account the current status of the technology.
