DETERMINATION OF CERTAIN TECHNOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF PORTLAND CEMENT CONCRETES PREPARED WITH MARINE SANDS

1978
The Laboratory for Material Testing and Technological Research (LEMIT) of Argentina, performs all sorts of tests on aggregates and concrete mix design for specific jobs, and routine tests when no particular study is requested. These include determining the consistency of fresh concrete using truncated cone samples and the compression strength of 7 and 28 day cured concrete. In the case of concretes prepared with marine sand, the characteristics of the concrete remain unknown. The purpose of this paper is to determine the diametric compression tensile strength, the elasticity modulus, the flexural strengths, wear rate, useful life and contraction on drying involved. (TRRL)
