Calculation of spontaneous macrostress in deposits from deformation of substrates and from restoring (or restraining) force factors

Abstract The classification of calculation methods for macrostress in deposits is suggested according to the type of measured quantity, shape, structure and state of the substrate, type of deformation and character of the stressed state. For every version of experimental conditions calculation formulae are derived. Along with more exact formulae, simple modifications for definite experimental conditions are proposed. The boundary conditions for the use of all derived equations are determined. All formulae formerly proposed (except erroneous ones) can be derived from those proposed here by making approximations. A comparison of several suggested formulae with formulae previously used is presented.
