Evaluation of surface hardness and roughness of five different composite contains nano-filler Background: The aim of this study was to compare the hardness and roughness of the surface of one nanofill (Filtek Supreme XT) and four nano-hybrid (Ivoclar Tetric EvoCeram, Dentsply Ceram X, Voco Grandio, Bisco AElite) composite after polishing. Methods: Ten specimens of each composite prepared for each test and were polymerized under a polyester strip for manufacturer recommendations. After curing samples were polished with OptiDisc discs for ten seconds. For surface hardness test, Vicker’s hardest test used and for the surface roughness test, surface profilometer was used. For each test three different locations of each sample were selected and mean values taken for statistical analysis. Results: There were significant differences in surface hardness and surface roughness between composites. According to results Grandio and Supreme XT showed highest surface hardness and Supreme XT showed lower surface roughness values. Conclusion: In the light of this study, when selecting composite resin filler content and density should be considered.
