Research and development on a knowledge-based CAD system for overall design of modular machine tool

Based on the characteristics of modular machine tool design,a CAD system architecture for modular machine tool has been established by modular design technology,which design process is dominated by top-down,and supplemented by bottom-up;The key technologies of KBE being applied in the system has been studied,in addtion the research of the modular machine tool design combining with the experience and knowledge engineering may strengthen the inheritance and reuse of design knowledge,fulfill the rapid design and provide a reliable technical support for the modular machine tool design.Finally,the platform and the tools of secondary development has been introduced,at the same time,the design efficiency and quality has been proved to be improved significantly by the given instance.
