CURVAS DE MATURAÇÃO GONADAL E CRESCIMENTO DE FÊMEAS DE TAMBIÚ, Astyanax bimaculatus LINNAEUS, 1758 (CHARACIFORMES, CHARACIDAE), NA REPRESA DE IBITINGA, ESTADO DE SÃO PAULO, BRASIL.

In this paper they were analyzed 379 females of "tambiu", Astyanax bimaculatus, in order to determine the average total length and the average age at which the first maturation period occurs. The observed values from the maturation curve, adjusted by the von Bertalanffy's equation, were the following ones: L∞ = 178.55 mm and K = 0.213. The first gonadal maturation period occurred when they were three years old and 84.31 mm long.
