Marmora foráneos en Tarraco a comienzos de la Época Imperial

The results of the examination of the raw materials used for the elaboration of various architectural, epigraphic and sculptural elements once placed in public and private spaces of the ancient Tarraco are presented. It has been used the macroscopic observation of the lithotypes for its characterization. The aim is to know more precisely the phenomena of the importation and the use of foreign marmora in a provincial capital, taking as reference the Augustan and Julio-Claudian periods. The results make possible to achieve significant conclusions regarding the access to imported stones, taking into account the functionality of the elements, their destination and their original exposure contexts.
