Isothermal crystallization kinetics of C_2S in gas quenching-treatment slag

Thermal treatment with constant temperature was conducted on gas quenching-treatment slag under different temperature.The isothermal crystallization and the growth principle of C2S in gas quenching-treatment slag were studied by statistical analysis of metallurgical microscope and metallographic analysis software.Scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive analyzer were used to study the micro morphology and element occurrence state of slag.JMAK equation proposed by Arvami et al.was used to study C2S isothermal crystallization kinetics.The results indicated the appropriate temperature and holding time for isothermal crystallization of gas quenching slag was 1 450 ℃ and 30 min.Under this temperature and time,the mean particle size of C2S was 34.80 μm,with crystallization area of 60.97%.After 30 min,the particle grew slowly.The crystallization activation energy of C2S isothermal crystallization in gas quenching slag was-31.34 kJ/mol.
