Calcium carbamate at the rate of 0, 0.5, 1.0; 1.5; 2.0 3.0; 4:0 and 5:0 percent was added to a neutral Siverek soil so as to test ho effect of different rates of nitrogen (0, 1, 5; 20; 50; 100; 200 and50Qppm N) being applied as ammonium chloride to tomatoe plant grown in growth chamber conditions for 65 days Limm'mg was effective upto 1.0 % CaCd3 rate. The average inc¬rease in dry matter yield of tomatoe plant at 0, 1.5, 20; 50; 100; 200 and. 500 ppm N was 0. 49, 77; 97; 100; 83; 16 and-21 % respectively. Where as th© average increase in dry matter yield of tomatoe plant at 0; 0.5; 1.0; 1.5; 2.0; 3.0; 4.0; 5.0 and 10 percent CaC03 levels was." 0, 23, 30; 11; -54; -50; -21 -27 and 7 percent respectively.
