investigation Of p53 and bcl-2 gene expression in human brain astrocytoma
2001
Objective To realize the significance of p53 and bcl 2 genes in the development and pathologic diagnosis of human brain astrocytoma Methods 47 cases of gliomas were detected by S P immunohistochemical staining Result Expression of p53 and bcl 2 proteins were positive in 48 9% (23/47), 57 4% (27/47) respectively; p53 expresssion of glioblastoma multiply was more high than p53 expresssion of astrocytoma, whereas most astrocytoma was positive bcl 2 protein Conclusion The two genes play an important role in the development of astrocytoma; the detection of these genes proteins has a positive significance on malignancy determination for astrocytoma
