Brain Metastases: Introduction

Brain metastases are often associated with a poor prognosis; however, with earlier detection and increasingly available therapies, including wider use of stereotactic radiosurgery and targeted therapies, the prognosis appears to be improving. This chapter reviews the epidemiology, diagnosis, and prognostic systems for brain metastases.
